William Ruto, and Raila Odinga have for a long time been viewed as to be in the forefront when it comes to the 2022's presidential elections. However, despite not mentioning it publicly, the Health CS— Mutahi Kagwe is said to be planning to run for the presidential seat come 2022.
According to the sources familiar with the planning, Mutahi Kagwe is set to join the 2022's presidential elections when his current task in the ministry of Health ends.
His strategists have spoken to the media, and according to The Standard, the Health CS would be vying using National Rainbow Coalition(NARC) party. It is this same party which he has used in the past while vying for different political positions for instance while vying for Mukurweini MP seat in 2002 and in 2013 when he became the senator.
Mutahi Kagwe has been known nationally and internationally as 'Corona Man' and he first came to limelight after COVID-19 was first detected in the country.
Kagwe's entry to presidential race is expected to further split the votes of Mt Kenya people, complicating William Ruto's efforts he has made while campaigning in the mountain.
