Orange Democratic Movement Party leader Raila Odinga today attended Bishop Monsignor Michael Otieno Odiwa's Ordination and Installation ceremony as Homabay Bishop at Homabay High School.
Raila climbed on the podium carrying a two headed spear and gifted the Bishop who was sitting on a stool.
"Christ looked after the spiritual needs of the people and through Him the Church has and continues to play an integral role in promoting harmony and unity around the world.
I joined the faithful at the ordination and installation of the new Homabay Bishop Michael Otieno Odiwa," Raila's tweet read.
Bishop Michael Odiwa will replace Retired Reverend Philip Anyolo who is the Arch Bishop of Kisumu Diocese.
Several leaders attended the event among them was cabinet secretary Eugine Wamalwa, Homabay governor Cyprian Awiti, Homabay Women Representative Gladys Wanga, Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang, Hon Peter Kaluma, Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero among others.
Hon Gladys Wanga and Governor Evans Kidero have declared their interest in vying for the Homabay gubernatorial post which will fell vacant after the current governor finishes his two constitutional terms.
