The battle to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta is on the rise and speeding up. Different leaders have started forming coalitions with one another and creating strong teams that will help rally votes for them. Key contestants like deputy president William Ruto are already going around the country spreading their agenda to the people. During the 2013 campaigns Uhuru had promised the country that if elected he will serve for 10 years then support William Ruto for another 10 years.
Recently Uhuru refuted the claims saying he never promised anybody anything and hasn't declared who he is planning to support. He warned those seeking votes in Mount Kenya to be realistic and explain what they have for the people. "Don't come here to con our people with fake stories. Tell us what you have on the table for them," he once said.
With the current happenings, citizens have started speculating on who the president is likely to support for the top seat. Yesterday during Moi's anniversary in Kabarak the president was seen together with Musalia Mudavadi and Gideon Moi something that likely suggest the duo were being groomed for the seat. Citizens have also expressed their thoughts saying a Mudavadi for president will be great for the country.
