“The fall of Governor Mohammed Abdi of Wajir should serve as a warning shot to the governors who bought shares in the BBI Ponzi scheme. He was an ardent BBI supporter but now that the matter is beyond him, he has been quickly let off. Many more will fall.”
The Senator told the governors that being an ardent supporter of the BBI will not spare anyone when it comes to impeachment. He further claimed that more governors are yet to fall.
Wajir County Governor Hon Mohammed Abdi was impeached yesterday by the Senate. This is after a total of 25 Senators voted in support of his impeachment against two who voted against while four abstained from voting.
Governor Abdi joins former Nairobi Governor Mile Sonko and Kiambu Ferdinand Waititu in the list of impeached governors. Today, his deputy was officially sworn in as the governor for Wajir county.
