The Orange Democratic Movement-ODM governor for Siaya county Cornel Amoth Rasanga is among the second term governors who have declared interest in parliamentary seat in coming general elections.

Rasanga made it public that he will not be going home in 2022 as he is eyeing the Alego Usonga parliamentary seat currently occupied by Samuel Atandi of the ODM party.

Speaking in Siaya on Saturday 16th October, Siaya senator James Orengo and Rarieda member of parliament Hon. Otiende Amolo made it clear that they are going to support Rasanga's parliamentry bid and advised him to drop it.

Orengo said that the incumbent Alego Usonga member of parliament Samuel Atandi is still fit for the job and he has their support in the 2022 general elections.

He further added that Hon. Samuel Atandi has been at the forefront in solving the issues that affect the people of Alego Usonga as well as pushing the agenda of the ODM party in the National Assembly.

The leaders advised the Alego Usonga electorate to ensure that they vote for Atandi adding that his hard work in the parliament is what made him be appointed as a member of the budget committee and is likely to do more if granted another chance.
