
Former Kiambaa constituency member of the national assembly Stanley Githunguri has passed on this evening at a Nairobi based hospital where he was receiving medical attention.
The former lawmaker who also served as the chief commerce officer (CEO) of National Bank has passed on at the age of 77 years. He joined politics in 2007 and went on to win the Kiambaa constituency MP seat that was once held by former powerful cabinet minister Njenga Karume.
Confirming the death, current Kiambaa MP John Kawanjiku has penned down a strong message of condolence to the family and friends. He described the late former lawmaker as someone who was dedicated to the welfare of the people.
“I interacted with Stanley Githunguri as a young man. He was a dedicated leader who was committed to the welfare of his people," Kawanjiku said after the passing on of the politician.

Further reports suggest that the deceased was battling with Diabetes, high blood pressure and dementia and he had also previously undergone a kidney transplant.
