The Southend West MP David Amess was attacked at the constituency meeting in Leigh-on-Sea by a man whose identity is unknown. They were in the Belfairs Methodist Church when an undefined man found his way into the room where he stabbed the MP multiple times before escaping. The attack took place on Thursday, 15th October at around midday.
The 69-year-old MP was rushed to the hospital for quick treatment where he later succumbed to the injuries.
"He was treated by emergency services but, sadly, died at the scene." Police officer from Essex reported.
Meanwhile, some suspects have been arrested over the matter as police continue with further investigations.
"A 25-year-old man was quickly arrested after officers arrived at the scene on suspicion of murder and a knife was recovered." An eyewitness said.
