The United Democratic Alliance's William Ruto samoe and Azimio La Umoja One Kenya's Raila Odinga are running for president, according to the most recent provisional results obtained by the Nation Media Group.
While the nation waits for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, headed by its chairman Wafula Chebukati, to formally announce the final results, a number of local media outlets are releasing the preliminary results.
Of the 22,157,567 voters who were entitled to cast ballots on Tuesday, just 13,406,787 did so, exercising their democratic right to choose the leaders they desired to be in office.
According to the National Monitoring Group, Raila Odinga, the head of the opposition, is still in second place behind Dr. William Ruto, the vice president, with 6,624,238 votes, or 49.41% of the vote.
