The relationship between Mount Kenya and Raila's led Azimio seems to have ended as Jeremiah Kioni has confirmed that the region will not support Azimio. According to kioni, Raila Odinga gained more votes in the vote rich region higher than he has ever gotten from the previous attempts. Kioni claimed that Raila has already enjoyed the support of the region and the political debt towards the ODM leader has already been paid. His sentiments comes after he missed out on the EALA nomination that saw Kanini Kega elected ahead of him under the Jubilee umbrella.
Kioni was a strong supporter of Raila Odinga in the previous election and his sentiments might be treated as a political threat to Azimio. Despite the wrangles in the party, Jubilee as a party had not decided on the route to take prior to Kioni's sentiments. His sentiments might be treated as personal and not from the jubilee party perspective.
