Natembeya who was speaking during an interview with radio citizen on Monday, said he was fully behind president Uhuru Kenyatta, and the 'handshake', reiterating that he wouldswing to the side the head of state would support.

During the interview, Natembeya says before he threw his hat in the ring, he had consulted President Uhuru Kenyatta as well as Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i. He says that the head of state as well as the interior Cabinet Secretary supported him to move to now seek an elective seat in the coming polls.

Natembeya who capped a 25-year career in public service that saw him transverse all the 47 counties of Kenya, also laid out his plan, for the first 100 days in office should he be voted in.

Top of his list is upgrading Kitale town-the county's headquarters-which he says needs a desperate face-lift especiallythe central business District with its potholes, in order to enhance service delivery.
