In a publication done by Nation on deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, a lot has been evaluated on the persona of the number two. Actions in the recent past have painted a seemingly growing rift, or unease pitting Ruto and Gachagua. It brings a reminder therefore of the events leading to the choice of Rigathi as running mate. Rigathi was actually not the favorite of politicians drawn from Mount Kenya. Many of them actually preferred Kindiki Kithure over him.Kindiki however grudgingly accepted Ruto's prerogative despite winning in the internal polls.
The event's and utterances lately paint a picture of a man keen on consolidating Mount Kenya for himself as he seeks to form his own political base and establish himself as the community kingpin. Gachagua recently mentioned that he rallied mount Kenya MPs to vote for Kanini Kega, an Azimio affiliated politician for the EALA seat. This came out as open defiance to Ruto who had another candidate as his preferred.
But what if the disagreements and defiance grows further? It has been revealed that Ndindi Nyoro is likely to be one of the beneficiaries in case of a rift pitting Ruto and the DP. His social media handles are full of people giving him praises and howling him as the next big thing for Mount Kenya. For now we wait to see
