The outspoken criminal lawyer Cliff Ombetta has broken his silence following the arrest of Kimilili constituency member of Parliament Didmus Barasa over assault charges.
Through a statement posted on his Twitter page, Ombeta claimed that Barasa was innocent and that he was only showing his victim how to wear a mask.

"Didmus Barasa did no wrong, he was just helping the fellow to fix his mask" stated Ombeta on his Twitter page.

Kenyans on Twitter are not sure whether Ombeta who is known for defending criminal suspects in courts was making a joke or just on the verge of representing Barasa in court.

It is not yet clear who is Barasa's legal team so far as the Mp who is a staunch supporter of deputy president William Ruto was arrested earlier this morning for public misconduct over the weekend in Bungoma county.
There has not been any formal communication from Ruto's political allies following Barasa's fate however, we will keep on following this developing stores for updates.
