"No, I Can't" Speaker Wetangula Officially Rejects Ruto's Call For Him To Fold His Part & UDA Party

Prior to the 2027 general elections, the UDA of president William Ruto faced opposition from parties allied to Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. Both parties flatly rejected the UDA's plan to have all Kenya Kwanza affiliates resign and join the party.

Hon. Makali declared, "We are in a multi-party state where one is free to join the party of his choice.

Political figures in his camp have expressed concern over President William Ruto's decision to ask all affiliates of the Kenya Kwanza Coalition to join his UDA party. Speaker of the National Assembly Senator Moses Wetangula, for example, has publicly stated that he has no intention of leaving his party and joining the UDA party any time soon or in the future.

The coalition may be destroyed by the president William Ruto's action or strengthened as a result of how events are developing.
