Kakamega governor Hon Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya toured Lugari Sub County where he started at Chekalin ward where he visited the Chekalini water project to inspect the ongoing construction work.He said the county has invested ksh 100 million in the water project that draws water from Chekalini dam, purified before supplied to Wananchi.
Oparanya said he is impressed with the work being done on the project which will be operationilized in December this year to supply water to residents of the sub county. He said before his term ends he will ensure that residents access clean tap water at their doorsteps as he promised in his manifesto.
The governor said two weeks ago he was in Likuyani where he met stakeholders and discussed development matters.He said his team presented a comprehensive report on development projects his government has initiated in the sub county and those he intends to set up.Governor Oparanya said he is touring all the 12 sub counties to inspect development projects and engage residents on development matters.
