Citizen tv's Linus Kaikai on Thursday evening said it was unnecessary for DP Rigathi Gachagua to say DCI officers were unwelcome in government offices.Linus Kaikai was speaking in the News Gang that airs on citizen tv, Thursday 10 P.M.According to Linus, stopping DCI officers from accessing offices was an obstacle in the fight against corruption.
Linus said corruption is real and mostly rampant in offices of top county and national government officials.Linus also said President Ruto did not address the corruption issue during his inaugural speech on Tuesday.During the campaign period, Ruto said fighting corruption was only possible by empowering judiciary and safeguarding it's independence.
DP Gachagua however seemed outraged by how DCI officers conducted arrests during President Kenyatta's tenure.While in Mombasa on thursday, Gachagua said the officers were subjecting seniors to shame before their juniors.He advised that they should stick to their offices at Kiambu road.Incase of an arrest, Gachagua said a senior member should carry it out.
