Heartwarming farewell from Rigathi Gachagua to Mathira constituency

Rigathi Gachagua, the Kenya Kwanza vice presidential candidate, bid his supporters farewell while pledging a landslide victory in the election scheduled for Tuesday.

Mr. Gachagua expressed gratitude during a thanksgiving prayer service on Sunday at Victors Chapel in Karatina, saying it was an honor and a delight to have represented such a "wonderful" community.

"My people of Mathira, I am grateful that you have accompanied me on this journey and have prayed for me. I love you and I'll miss you, but I'll still be here. You occupy a sizable space in my heart, he added.

"We did what we could, but I wish we had been able to do more. We have built feeder roads, schools, and many other things. I'll see to it that the roads that are currently being built are finished when I take over.

"Even as we carry out our civic responsibilities, I will never forget where it all started. Giving starts at home.

Regardless of the results of the elections, he urged the congregation to pray for outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta, stating that there is no animosity between the two.

He continued by saying that as President Kenyatta acknowledges the choice of the people, he should take some time to relax.

"If the Kenya Kwanza alliance forms the government, we won't be vengeful. No matter what has happened, none of us will," he remarked.
