Many analysts considered the Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya party counterpart Musalia Mudavadi joining deputy president William Ruto's campaign as a major political coup for the UDA presidential candidate.
The two leaders have been campaigning for the Kenya Kwanza Alliance in various regions of the country, presumably spending more time in Mt Kenya than in their own Western Kenya neighborhood, to support the vice president.
Mr Musalia Mudavadi and lawyer Moses Wetang'ula have been included in Ruto's Mt Kenya campaigns, according to Kenya Kwanza Alliance officials.Waithaka Kirika, the TSP deputy secretary general who represents Chama Cha Kazi and Mwangi Kiunjuri's TSP, thinks Ruto is dishonest. He couldn't understand why he had given them such importance in Mt Kenya when they needed 70% of the vote in western Kenya.
The leaders encouraged the UDA party's leader to make it easier for them to campaign in western Kenya rather than Mt Kenya.
"Let the vice president help the two leaders campaign in Western Kenya if he is honest," he remarked.
