Junet Mohammed Remarks at Nyamira County

East MP Junet Mohammed has hit headlines again after his remarks during a fundraiser in Nyamira county, presided over by ODM leader Raila Odinga and Interior CS Fred Matiang'i.

The Junet jokingly claimed that should former prime minister Raila Odinga wins the presidency, power will be centred in his Nyanza backyard.

He jokingly told Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, who was also present at the event, that he will soon come to the region as a visitor once Raila rises to the helm of the country's leadership.

Junet said that Kagwe's people (Mt Kenya locals) have enjoyed the trappings of power for more than 20 years and it is now the turn of Nyanza residents to enjoy power should Raila assume office in 2022.

Junet remarks were not received well by opponents in the presidential race, with Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa claiming that the Junet clearly indicated that Raila's quest for presidency is premised on the hunger for power and not to transform the economy as they allege.

"Good thing with my good friend ⁦Junet Mohamed⁩ is honesty while speaking. He says it as it is, It’s all about political POWER and NOTHING more for them. No plan No Vision No Agenda," he said.

Junet is a die hard of Raila and has been in many ODM party campaigns.
