President Uhuru Kenyatta is widely expected to call it quits in the next 18 months or so when his term as president comes to an ultimate end. And as that is anticipated, different political formations are in the offing.
On one hand, Deputy president William Ruto seems to be leading a lone ranger campaign and is assembling together a formidable team for his onslaught on the presidency. On the other hand, ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula are also pulling in respective directions.
And as campaigns firms up, former majority whip in the Senate Irungu Kang'ata has come out to spill the beans on President Uhuru Kenyatta's government's big secret plan as far as 2022 is concerned.
According to Kang'ata, he had intelligence on what was being cooked in government and that intelligence ALLEGEDLY showed him that the government is grooming Orange democratic movement Party leader Raila Odinga to take over as president.
However, he says that the former prime minister is not sellable in the Mt Kenya region and instead the region is firmly behind the Candidature of deputy president William Ruto.
"I had intelligence since I was at the centre of power...the government's Candidate is Raila Odinga but i can promise them that he is not sellable in Mt Kenya region...," Kang'ata alleges.
