With 9 months to Kenya's general elections, all top politicians in the country are in their last-minute rush assembling their troops ready for the big test come 2022. Raila Odinga is believed he might be trying his fifth presidential bid while Dp Ruto will be vying for Presidency for the first time.
Two weeks ago, an online opinion poll conducted by Hon Adan Omar suggested that majority of Kenyans at 65% had confidence that Deputy President William Ruto would succeed President Uhuru if elections were to be held at that time.
Another online opinion poll conducted by Meru senator Hon Mithika Linturi has suggested that if Presidential elections were to be held this week, William Ruto will emerge winner.
If Linturi poll is compared with the above poll by Hon Adan, Dp Ruto popularity has dropped by 3% while that of Raila Odinga has gone up by 4%.
From a sample size of 20,013 respondents, 62% will vote for William Ruto as their next President come 2022 while ODM boss Raila Odinga managed 30%.
Musalia Mudavadi political popularity has remained the same at 6% if compared to an earlier poll by Hon Adan while that of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is constant at 2%.
From the above online opinion poll, netizens reacted as follows;
Meshack Blessed: Raila Tosha
Mugambi: The only horse is William Ruto
Kevin Mayaka: I must vote for ruto to make you happy but the real vote is for baba @RailaOdinga.
Kaingaeric12: Ruto is running the race alone now he thinks he the owner.
Naftaly: Ofcourse no one will beat Ruto on any opinion poll.
Come 2022, it simply means the race to State House will be a two-horse race between Deputy president William Ruto and ODM boss Raila Odinga.
Despite Ruto leading all along, the above poll simply means that the second in command needs to come up with a better strategy to tame Raila's growing influence before general elections.
