President Uhuru Kenyatta Wednesday afternoon reshuffled the cabinet after plan to make changes in the kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC).
The president moved Cabinet Secretary Monicah Juma to Ministry of Energy while Eugene Wamalwa was taken to Defence.
President Kenyatta also on Wednesday welcomed recommendations of a taskforce formed in March 2021 to establish a path towards the reduction of the cost of electricity by over 33 per cent within four months.
"The consequence of the proposed interventions is that a consumer who previously spent Ksh500 per month on electricity shall by 31st December, 2021 pay Ksh330 per month. This cost reduction will be achieved," reads the statement in part.
Here are some reactions;
Obed: The government is desperate enough to try and keep us busy with reshuffling of cabinet secretaries, incompetence remains.
Mjumbe Hanakosa: How is this a reshuffle? More like scoot ond over
