Ruto Finally Names People Who Want To Remove Him From Office Just 39 Days To Elections

William Ruto, the deputy president, claims that the court action brought by Michael Kirungia, a veteran of the Mau Mau, is being considered and filed for political reasons.

He claimed that the case is being driven by someone, but he was unable to identify them.

A number of prominent leaders, including President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, have pushed DP Ruto to step down from his position as DP.

"The legislative branch of the government is particularly designated to decide whether or not the Deputy President should be dismissed from office."

"The sought directives cannot be issued by this court since it lacks the necessary authority." Explained Ruto.

"There has not been any pinch of proof from Kirungia or from any other quarter presented before this court to substantiate the claim that I have acted in a manner that is contradictory to the law," asserted Ruto through the legal counsel of Mutuma Gichuru & Associates.

Ruto continued by saying that even if he were to be impeached, only the Parliament, not the court, would have the authority to do so.

"In addition, there is an absence of convincing evidence in the application."

"It is founded on nothing more than statements and allegations, neither of which are capable of invoking the court's jurisdiction,"Ruto's statement read.
