
The Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki's meeting was interrupted with sounds of gunfire, in the village of Volatile Ngomeni area in Kitui County, causing disruption and distress among the people who were listening the to the speech.
According to reports, CS Kindiki went to Kitui on a security assessment mission on Tuesday, November 22, when armed bandits fired the gunshots in air, barely minutes after the CS started to address the residents of the area.

Kindiki was immediately forced to vacate by the Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua together, with his security team, because the gunfire was getting closer to where the event was talking place.
"The people of this area are living in constant fear of being killed by gunmen. It is important for the government to offer them adequate security." Said Senator Enoch Wambua.
The move made by the bandits was viewed, as a very daring move to the government security team. However, the Kitui security officials assured the local community with of their safety, despite the move made by the bandits.
