"Vote of No Confidence" SC Says as Ruto's Govt Takes Away Powers of CS Mutua and Gives it to DP Gachagua

Vote of no confidence is how senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdulahi has termed the decision of the Ruto's government to take away the powers of Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Alfred Mutua and hand them over to the office of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua while saying that he would have resigned immediately if he was Mutua.

Through a letter dated 1st March 2023, the letter has directed that in requests of meetings of cross cutting nature and that involve more than one ministry, such requests should be made through the office of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for coordination purposes.

Further, the letter in the interest of efficiency that that the missions may communicate directly with ministries, departments and agencies of the government of Kenya without going through the ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, the letter says that a copy of the correspondence should be shaded with the ministry.
