President William Ruto Announces New Inspector General After Mutyambai Requested for A Terminal Leave

While naming his cabinet at state house president William Ruto, said that he received a letter from inspector general of police Hillary Mutyambai requesting to proceed to a terminal leave following his health issues.

President Ruto has nominated Japheth Koome to fill the vacancy left by Hillary Mutyambai. In a statement issued on September 27, Ruto indicated that Koome will succeed Hillary Mutyambai who was appointed by former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Prior to appointment, Koome was attached to Kenya police college situated in kiganjo. He has vast experience in the police service as he served as the Nairobi police commander in 2018 before being promoted to become the principal assistant of deputy inspector general.

Further, president William Ruto announced that the director of criminal investigations George resigned from his position. The president directed the head of public service to appoint an officer to serve in an acting capacity. Ruto stated this while announcing cabinet secretaries to serve in his government.
