Kondele Residents Celebrate as Police Lorries Pass by The Town (VIDEO)

All eyes are set on Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati who is set to announce the much-awaited presidential results today, August 15.

There have been a lot of events that have been captured by the media houses in the country. Some have visited the homes of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.

According to a video uploaded by The Star, Kondele residents are seen celebrating after a police lorries full of armed officers tour the small town in Kisumu County.

It was not immediately established why the security and been beefed up in the area a few hours before the big announcement.

It should further be noted that the United States embassy had cautioned its citizens against visiting the region before, during and after the elections for fear of unexpected reactions.

The sentiments drew a sharp reaction from the residents and leaders from the region who said that the place was peaceful and anyone was welcomed.
