Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdulahi has criticized Raila Odinga for organizing mass action against the government of Deputy President William Ruto, claiming that the government has done much to improve the lives of Kenyans.
He pointed out that the problems experienced today originated during the handshake period between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ahmednasir cited examples of how the cost of maize flour and cooking oil has significantly dropped since Ruto's government took over.
He wrote on his Twitter page that "Hon Raila wants to riot/destroy on Monday because prices have dropped...MADNESS."
In response to Raila's call for demonstrations, seven Members of Parliament from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have announced that they will not participate in the planned protests.
They also urged their supporters to refrain from participating in the demonstrations. The MPs, including Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda and Felix Odiwuor Jalang'o, emphasized the need for people to engage in economic activities and take advantage of the current rains to plough and plant.
It is essential to note that Raila's supporters are unhappy with the current government's policies, particularly regarding the high cost of living. However, the MPs believe that the government is doing its best to address these issues, and mass action will only disrupt economic activities and harm the country's progress.
