Twists of things are arising from the earlier announcement made by the CS Secretary Prof Magoha concerning the schools resumption. The Cs, through the citizen TV tweet on 12 April 2021, confirmed to the students that there will be no change in the school calendar, meaning the students to prepare for may school re-opening. This comes at a time the country is under lockdown with some Counties' movement restricted due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Although the CS linked his argument to the recent reducing and low Covid 19 curves being reported by the ministry of health.
However, things might not happen as expected as different complains and arguments are being reported from different people. Today, 13th April, during a discussion on citizen TV, on Covid-19 school calendar, concerning the same, Mp of Kandara Constituency, Alice Wahome, said the CS is just overwhelmed.
"Most of the things prof Magoha has spoken in relation to Covid 19 and school resumption was spoken without planning or sufficient information", she said. She went ahead to state that teachers should be vaccinated first.
This means that the country needs more preparation before learning should resume. The government should ensure that the vaccine are available for both the teachers and the students, and that the Covid 19 protocols to be well adhered to.
