Taking to his official social media pages, the Orange Democratic Movement party secretary-general told Kenyans not to treat the fund as a loan and instead should convert it to a grant by not paying back.
The vocal critic of president William Ruto claimed that by not paying back the money, Kenyans will be helping the president to fulfill his own promise. He argued that nothing will happen to anyone who fails to pay back the loan
"Help Ruto keep his own promises. CONVERT that loan into the grant he promised, he will do you nothing. Happy Sabbath." The ODM senator posted on his Twitter pages.
Azimio team has repeatedly maintained that the president promised to give Kenyans a grant but not a loan payable with interest. Kenyans are however expected to payback the loan within 14 days with 8% interest rate.
