In less than 75 days Kenya will be heading to the ballot to elect the new government that will succeed Uhuru Kenyatta's Ten Year rule. With Political temperature and tensions increasing each and every day there has been alot of changes in the presidential race.
Deputy president William Ruto who leads the Kenya Kwanza coalition will be facing his former political mentor and Prime Minister Raila Odinga of the Azimio La Umoja coalition who is making his fifth appearance in the presidential race.
The Mount Kenya region is a big concern by both coalitions as it lacks a presidential candidate. In previous elections, the region has been offering a candidate. This prompted both coalitions to choose their running mates from the region as they target the over 4 million votes. Raila Odinga chose Narc-kenya Party Leader Martha Karua whereas Ruto chose Rigathi Gachagua.
Manyora on his YouTube channel has said that Rigathi Gachagua has made Ruto lose his grip in the region. Likening Martha Karua to a lioness that is protecting its children. He added that Rigathi has brought a division into the mountain region making it easier for Raila to garner more than 30% that makes Raila have a better advantage of winning the August 9 general election.
