Gaddafi whose full name is Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar Al-Gaddafi was a Libyan powerful revolutionary l, politician and political theorist.


Gaddafi was popularly known across the globe as a radical leader who practice dictatorial leadership however, many people especially Libyans viewed Gaddafi as a good leader who immensely helped them come out of economic slavery.

The hero, Gaddafi became a de factor leader of the Republic of Libya in 1969 when he seized full control of the government in a coup against King Idris. Gaddafi initiated and completed major projects in Libya that many people are still enjoying their fruits till today.

The late ex-Libyan leader built a Great Man-Made River in Libya in 1984. The river which is commonly abbreviated as GMMR, consist of a vast network of underground pipelines and aqueducts which channels water from ancient underground aquifers deep in the great Sahara desert to Tripoli city, coastal part of Libya.

The river has helped in liberating Libya's economy since it has put more agricultural land under cultivation. The river has also spur the growth of many manufacturing companies in Libya.

According to records, Muammar Gaddafi passed away on 20th October 2011. Gaddafi and his son Mutassin were captured and brutally killed after a Battle of Sirte. The operation was done by highly trained NATO officials and National Transitional Council forces.

The remains of Gaddafi and his son were buried in Islamic tradition. They were buried in unmarked grave in Libya desert to avoid creating a shrine.For more information, like share and comment.
