The latest leader to fall victim of this axe is Johnbosco Mwenda, a Central Kenya politician who took part in the just concluded 2022 general elections. He was seeking the Nginda Ward representative post in Embu County and this saw him to use alot of money in his campaigns.
He was however defeated badly by Maurice Macharia of UDA who doubles as a driver in Kathangariri Tea Factory. Mwenda has expressed his disappointment in the area residents who vowed to vote for him as they ate his money. He has declared that he will never seek any elective position, after all, once bitten twice shy
