A popular member of parliament from the North Rift was left with an egg on his face after he attempted to reap where he did not sow.
The legislator in question is reported to have called recent appointees to plum government positions for a celebration. The politician spoiled them with expensive alcohol and delicious roasted goat ribs as he narrated to them how he struggled and fought to get them into office.
Unfortunately, the appointees already knew who helped them to get those appointments. Therefore, they played fools and enjoyed the food and drinks from the lawmaker.
After the party came to an end, the appointees then ganged up against the parliamentarian and thoroughly lectured him for attempting to take credit that is not his.
They even detailed to him how and where they met and planned with a senior government official on those appointments. They also rebuked him for going around bragging about helping them be appointed yet he was not involved in their appointments.
At the end of the day, the second-term MP who was hoping to make new friends in high government places left the venue embarrassed and disappointed after footing a huge bill yet he failed to achieve his goal.
Word has it that the MP in question does not get along with the majority of county politicians. He was desperately seeking to make new friends out of the recently appointed state officers but that too backfired badly.
