Raila and his brigade are today in Kakamega county to champion his ideas to the local residents. Raila was accompanied by former MP Fred Gumo, Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Nabakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, Hon Junet Mohammed, among others.

During his speech in Sabatia today, Hon Wangwe stated that despite having been a strong supporter of William Ruto since 2013, he has now looked at the Kenyan political landscape and the only person who can bring order to Kenya is Raila Odinga. "I beg the people of this area to now allow me to support Raila Odinga. I don't want to be in the opposition," said Hon Wangwe.

Raila Odinga reiterated his promise of delivering 6,000 shillings per month to jobless families from his social security fund. He also promised to revive the sugar industry in the western region.

The region's political leaders who were with Raila, including Oparanya, urged Musalia Mudavadi to join Raila Odinga in order to avoid wasting the western Kenya votes on a man who can not win, but instead wait for support after Raila leaves Statehouse.
