The deceased was his personal aide.
Through his Facebook page governor Otichilo described the deceased as selfless civil servant.
"Today I have lost family. Family of over 15 years. Family that has watched over me, stood with me and walked with me through different paths of life. Constable Cassius Madegwah Lukwah, has been my aide and family for the length of my political life and journey. We have lost a good man. Cassius Madegwah Lukwah was selfless and an astute civil servant. He had a keen eye for details and swift on his feet.
He warned social media users against speculating about his death saying he did not succumb to coronavirus.
"My sincere condolences to his family. From my family, work colleagues, friends and the Vihiga County Community, we stand with you, we mourn with you.Rest Well my friend, Rest in Peace Madegwa," he added.
Kenyans used his post to send their messages of condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
