It is just about ten months for the next general elections to be conducted in the country. Many political leaders are doing everything possible in order to secure the top seats. The Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto and the ODM leader Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga are touring all over the country to secure more votes so that they can win and succeed Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta after the 2022.
We might witness many changes prior to 2022 as many top politicians in the country want to try their luck inorder to secure the presidential spot. Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, Hon.Musalia Mudavadi are also interested to secure this top seat.
The greatest news that has brought more discussion is that the retired third President of the Republic of Kenya Hon.Mwai Kibaki yesterday broke the silence on the Presidency and said that he will be supporting his son Jimmy Kibaki to go for the Presidency.
This statement had alot of weight and it might create unrests in Ruto's and Raila's camps. How will Jimmy Kibaki ambition to join the race for presidency affect the two top leaders?
Jimmy Kibaki come from central part of Kenya which is a votes rich locale; we have seen the former Prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga making regular visits in these places to maximize the votes that he will get to drive him in the office. When Jimmy Kibaki joins the race it will be so hard for the people of Mt. Kenya to leave him due to incredible development records that Kibaki's government did to the people from the region.
The retired president Mwai Kibaki is believed to be the most successful President in the history of this country and these legacy can propel his son to secure more votes from Mt. Kenya and the country at large. It will be a tight race in Mt. Kenya between the three leaders, Ruto, Raila and Jimmy Kibaki. Anyone who need to win must consider him as the running mate inorder to avoid competition and to maximize the votes from Mt. Kenya.
Can Jimmy Kibaki Be Considered As The Mt. Kenya Kingpin Ahead of 2022 general elections?
