The Deputy President has appointed Hon. Isaac Mwaura to be a team leader in Kiambu County and also in the community of people living with disabilities. Ruto congratulated Mwaura for accepting defeat to King'ara in the competitive nomination exercise.

On April 17, Isaac Mwaura, who got 2,428 votes against King'ara's who got 4,688 votes, stated that he would work with the latter. He said that although he was disappointed by the loss, the time had come for him to accept and focus on the August 9 General Election.
