President Uhuru Kenyatta Today hosted three coastal governors, Amason Kingi of Kilifi county, Salim Mvurya of Kwale, and Hassan Joho of Mombasa in a consultative meeting held at the Statehouse, the meeting has elicited mixed reactions with many left guessing what could be its agenda.
The governors updated their supporters about the meeting with no much details, the Mombasa governor posted, ''Together with my Kwale and Kilifi counterparts we had a productive meeting with H.E Uhuru Kenyatta at the Statehouse.'' While his Kilifi counterpart said, ''Today, we had a meeting with H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, together with my colleagues Hon. Ali Hassan Joho and Governor Salim Mvurya''
However, the Kapseret Member of parliament, Hon. Oscar Sudi has alleged that the meeting was to push for a Coastal party, he said that its a trick Uhuru is using despite other people like Governor Mvurya having different political ideologies. He added that it is the same trick Uhuru used in the Western Kenya region. Sudi however reaffirmed that Kenyans are beyond tribal politics.
