Nyanza Leaders Begin Sensitization Rallies for Massive Voter Registration Ahead of 2022 Polls

The next general election is fast approaching. Leaders are busy campaigning and popularizing their political bids at the grassroot levels. The electoral Commission launched massive voter registration excercise countywide in preparation of the next polls.

This voter registration excercise is meant to register new voters. Leaders across the country have urged their supporters to register as voters ahead of the next general election. Youths are the main target.

Today Nyanza leaders began massive voter registration sensitization rallies. The leaders are keen on registering massive voters ahead of the next general election. The region consists of six counties.

The excercise began in Homabay county. Homabay county is one of the counties in larger Nyanza region. Homabay senator Moses Otieno Kajwang said that they are targeting 650 thousands new voters.

The region has been dominated by ODM party. Majority of all elected leaders were elected on a ODM party ticket. The former prime minister Raila Odinga enjoys massive support and influence in the region.

During the voter registration sensitization rallies, the leaders drummed support for Raila's Azimio LA Umoja campaign strategy. This strategy is meant to unite the country for economic revolution.

Several leaders from Homabay county attended the sensitization rallies. They include Homabay governor Cyprian Awiti, Homabay senator Moses Otieno Kajwang, Homabay women representative Hon. Gladys Wanga among other local elected leaders.
