Deputy president William Ruto has once again suffers blow just hours before his nyanza visit. This is after his nyanza top pointman changed tune of supporting him as the next president of kenya. Ruto has been visiting the Raila Odinga bedroom to get some control over the region.
In nyanza, Migori governor Zacharia Okoth Obado has been a string supporter of the deputy president and even hosted the second in command in his latest nyanza region visit. Obado had publicly declared his support for the deputy president William Ruto and promised to campaign for Ruto in the region.
Obado was first elected as migori governor on a PDP ticket in 2013 general election. He was later elected with an ODM ticket in 2017 but later fell out with ODM party leader Raila Odinga. Since then, Okoth Obado has been faced with many challenges just like any other leader against Raila Odinga from the region.
In an interview with Lolwe television, a local television, Zacharia Okoth Obado made a declaration that he will not support anybody's bid for presidency as he will also be in the ballot box. His stand is a big blow for the second in command as Okoth Obado is the only powerful and influential leader from the nyanza region supporting the deputy president from the region.
