Newly elected EALA MP David Ole Sankok is under massive attack following a land dispute in Narok county. According to a family in Narok, the lawmaker is accused of grabbing and fencing their 500-acre piece of land after allegedly forging their land documents.
According to sources from Narok DCI where the case was reported, it's claimed that Mr Sankok gang up with some family members to forge the ownership of the land in question. The matter was reported on November 4, 2022, by a family member Simon Olietia who claims his life is in danger as he has been receiving threats due to the conflict of that land.
Olietia added that the family's attempt to look for help from land officials to nullify Mr Sankok's allegedly forged title deed has been fruitless. Adding that Sankok is using force and according to the alleged forged document Sankok is said to have purchased land from a 7-year-old boy, which he termed as illegal since a minor cannot sell land.
Speaking during an interview with People Daily, Sankok refute the claims that he had grabbed the land urging that he bought it. Further, he denied claims that he shot in the air after tension arise last week while he had visited the disputed land.
Last week the Narok High Court granted the family a temporary injunction stopping the sale, subdivision, and any other transactions on the land pending a hearing on March 1, 2023.
