Presidential seat has attracted new political contenders. This new presidential contenders includes national assembly speaker Justin Muturi, Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana, former UNCTAD secretary general Mukhisa Kituyi and former Kiambu governor William Kabogo.
Today the former Kiambu governor William Kabogo intensified his 2022 presidential campaigns and hosted a delegation from Nairobi county. The delegates includes members of " Nairobi Ni Sisi" group. The leaders held candid discussion on matters of politics in the city.
The former governor has publicly declared his presidential bid in a move to succeed the incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta. He has also formed his new Tujibebe Wakenya party. He has been popularizing the party in the region and other parts of the country.
Mr. William Kabogo is popular and influential in Mount Kenya region. He is one of the wealthy politicians in the region. He served as Juja member of parliament before vying for Kiambu gubernatorial seat. He was trounced by Waititu in 2017 gubernatorial race.
The former governor is a member of Mount Kenya forum. Other leaders in the forum includes NARC party leader Martha Karua, TDP party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri and Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria.
