The handshake team has today received a major boost as another county passes the amendment bill 2020. Raila has been drumming up support for BBI in Nyanza this week with Uhuru having led the mount Kenya BBI popularisation exercise in Sagana last week.
The Counties Of Siaya, Kisumu and Homabay counties have passed the BBI bill unanimously in less than one week. The efforts by Raila Odinga seems to have borne fruits as we wait to see how the Mount Kenya region will react to BBI.
Baringo county which rests in the Deputy President's home turf of Rift Valley has witnessed a heated debate over the BBI bill. The County assembly after push and pull has reportedly not agreed on the BBI amendment bill 2020.
With this trend, seems like the BBI bill is gaining traction in the Nyanza region. Question is, will the handshake team get the 24 counties required to validate a referendum? And is Uhuru Kenyatta sincere in BBI push? If yes, how comes no county in the central region has passed the BBI bill?
