According to experts, the ANC party leader has to either be on the ballot or someone else will be on the ballot and he will be supporting them to succeed His Excellency the Head of State president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Among the options that he has is the most basic one presenting himself as a presidential candidate through his Amani National Congress ANC party just like he did in the year 2013.
The other option is support another candidate from within his own One Kenya Alliance at a time when he has already indicated that he is a potential presidential contender in the forthcoming presidential elections.
If he decides to support one of the One Kenya Alliance members, he will have to face off with Wiper Democratic Party leader who is also the former vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
It has also been disclosed that he can support former Prime Minister and ODM leader Raila Odinga or rally behind Deputy President William Ruto who is also seeking to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mudavadi’s expected announcement has triggered curiosity among Kenyans and anxiety for his supporters since he has consistently expressed his desire to go all the way to the ballot.
