The battle for numbers thirteen months to the electioneering day is spicing up as the country's two political titans, ODM leader Raila Odinga, and deputy president William Ruto get on a serious political odyssey in readiness to what is hyped to be Kenya's most tumultuous elections after the 2007 ones.
Despite remaining mum on his presidential ambitions, political activities within Odinga's circles indicate that the political doyen will be giving his fifth shot on the Presidential seat. His political student come competitor Dp William Ruto on the other hand, despite the turbulences facing his bid, he has rest assured his supporters that come what may his name will be in the presidential ballot.
It is this aggressiveness that has made the second in command successfully invade regions traditionally perceived to be Odinga's strongholds luring into his camp key Odinga's allies to help him set up a well oiled campaign when time is ripe.
Odinga in efforts to recapture the lost allies has also been making intrudes in regions that were declared Jubilee Party zones in the last election to help him build a strong presidential campaign shifting the the battle for tyranny of numbers from regions to particular counties.
Here are three counties that were predominantly Jubilee zones but in solidarity with the spirit of Handshake, Odinga is slowly making intrudes and perhaps by 2022 the magnitude of his invasion and the success of the BBI will have watered down Dp Ruto's influence.
Garissa County is one of the North Eastern counties that has overwhelmingly supported the BBI and seemingly in his quest to seek a second term, the county governor Ali Korane is chanting his way behind the initiative. Before the BBI reggae was halted he was the region's coordinator of the initiative. Despite being a Jubilee elected governor, Korane has successfully hosted Odinga in his county discussing BBI and 2022 elections a sign that Baba is interested in having the county on his side come 2022.
Kajiado is described as one of the battle grounds for both Odinga and Ruto. A county that was once seen as an ODM zone but Odinga lost it to Jubilee when Governor Lenku won the 2017 elections. Several meetings with the big political voices from the region is an indication that the ODM chief is interested and successfully invading the County.
Lastly, Nyamira county is a county Odinga is seemingly interested in recapturing. The county despite thought to be an ODM zone overwhelmingly supported Jubilee in last elections and with the spirit of the Handshake under the watch of Odinga's and the president's close allies, ODM is hoping to it support their candidate come 2022.
