The general elections were carried out on Tuesday and the vote counting started within Kirinyaga County after the closure of polling stations.
In Kirinyaga County,one of the gubernatorial aspirants has alleged that there have been rigging attempts as a result,she asked for the counting of the ballot papers to be stopped.

Taking to Ann Waiguru's Facebook page,she posted,"rigging in broad daylight.Two ballot boxes with Governor's ballots enter Kianyaga through the back door in broad daylight.They must be removed and counting must stop."
The current Kirinyaga County Governor alleged that some ballot boxes for the governor position were brought into a polling station.Ann Waiguru asked the counting of the ballot papers to be stopped until the extra ballot boxes are removed from the polling station.
