Boost For Lusaka as Mt. Elgon Leaders Resolve to Push His Gubernatorial Comeback

LEADERS from Mount Elgon region have thrown their weight behind Speaker Ken Lusaka for Bungoma gubernatorial seat even as politicians from the region battle it out to bag the coveted running mate position.

Lusaka thanked residents for their unwavering support; he pledged to continue sticking with the marginalized community by initiating more projects geared towards their empowerment.

"Mt. Elgon has been one of the dependable pillars of my politics and development. You gave me an astute deputy with whom we initiated many projects here and elsewhere in this county. Your unwavering support is never in vain,"Said Lusaka

He was speaking yesterday at Chemoge High-Altitude Training Center when he joined the athletic community for a thanksgiving ceremony for Boston Marathon Gold Medalist Diana Kipyokei.

The center, initiated by Lusaka, has produced many greats in the field of athletics.

The major talking point in the colorful event is how politicians from the area jostled for attention in a bid to catch the eye of Senate Speaker.

Lusaka was accompanied by former Deputy Governor Hillary Chemoywo, David Maling’a, and David Kimkung .

Others were John Shikuku, Nicholas Kiboi and Janspher Mbatiny. They all pledged to campaign for the re-election of Lusaka in the coming polls.
