"Jana bwana Arap Masamba ameongea kule Mombasa manake nilisema nitaweka Hassan Joho kama waziri wa masamba (Yesterday 'Mr. Arap Masamba' spoke in Mombasa because I promised to pick Hassan Joho the Cabinet Secretary for Lands)," Raila said.
He lectured Ruto on what he termed as history about the land injustices in Kenya, claiming that Ruto is not well conversant with the history. He said that the process that Ruto want to create of buying lands is what was done by the colonialists. Mr. Odinga argued that the land problem at the coast is very much different from what Ruto is trying to do and that it is only his Azimio team that understands what needs to be done and has the solutions.
"Wewe enda kwenda soma historia ya Kenya...Kuna dhulma ya kihistoria ambayo wewe huelewi, wewe hujasoma na hujui. Sisi tunajua kiini ya shida inakumba wa Pwani na tuna suluhisho (You go and read history of Kenya...There are historical injustices that you don't understand, you have never read and you don't know. With us we know the problem of the people of Pwani and we have the solution)," Raila said.
The Azimio candidate claimed that what Ruto is planning to do in solving the land problems at the coast is another plan by DP Ruto to find a way of selling back the pieces of lands that he 'allegedly grabbed'.
"Hii ambaye analeta ni ujanja tu anataka masamba ambaye amenyakua inunuliwe na serikali. Wizi tena (This plan he is bringing is a trick because he wants the government to buy back the pieces of land that he grabbed. Corruption again)," Raila said.
