The current Migori County Public Board chairman Jared Kopiyo has officially thrown his weight behind Deputy President William Ruto by embracing his TangaTanga and bottom-up hustler model.
Koyo, the immediate former Awendo MP was unveiled on his move by Ruto’s Nyanza region pointman Eliud Owalo on a social media post complete with photos.
“Earlier today I joined DP William Ruto in welcoming to the Hustler Nation Hon. Jared Kopiyo, the immediate former MP for Awendo constituency,” Owalo said.
In the forthcoming 2022 general elections, Kopiyo will try to take back his seat after he was trounced by Walter Owino on an ODM ticket.
In the last polls, Owino won the seat by getting 20,488 votes against Kopiyo who was an Independent ticket with 11,663 votes.
While Kopiyo will not use Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for the race, he is likely to use People Democratic Party (PDP) which is a south Nyanza regional umbrella for Ruto to use to disrupt ODM leader Raila Odinga in the area.
UDA is managed by Migori governor Okoth Obado, who employed Kopiyo when he was left in the political cold.
