Deputy president William Ruto's staunch ally Francis Mureithi has been arrested. He was arrested on Thursday morning while he was at his house in Nairobi.
According to Tuko News, United Democratic Alliance party communication representative Wanjohi Githae confirmed his arrest, saying he was for causing an accident, although fine details of the accident was not revealed.
Reports indicate that Francis Mureithi had solved the issue peacefully with those who were involved in the accident, hence worried why he had to be arrested.
This has led to speculations that Francis Mureithi's arrest is pure political and not because of the accident.
Francis Mureithi was a former Embakasi East Member of Parliament aspirant, who lost the seat in 2007 to the current Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino.
Babu Owino won the seat after garnering 46,817 votes over his opponent Francis Mureithi who garnered 42,501 votes.
